24 Sep John Malkovich Is Sexy As Hell!
John Malkovich’s weirdness level just went up about 10 notches as the muse of artist Sandro Miller in his upcoming exhibit depicting the actor in recreations of some of history’s most famous photographs. Can you spot the originals?
Self Portrait (Fright Wig) by Andy Warhol, 1986Salvador Dali by Philippe Halsman, 1954Einstein by Arthur Sasse, 1951Che Guevara by Alberto Korda, 1960Jack Nicholson (The Joker) by Herb Ritts, 1988Marilyn with Pink Roses by Bert Stern, 1962
I first fell in love with Miller’s photography a few years ago when I discovered his Cuba exhibitions from the early 2000’s. His work follows in the vein of Irving Penn and Richard Avedon but with an originality of style and subject matter that’s almost indescribable – stark, stoic and serious, yet hilarious at exactly the right moments.
Miller’s “Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich” exhibit debuts at the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago this November. Read John Malkovich’s exclusive interview with French publication 7-POST and French newspaper Liberation this October…and for the record, the answers are B, A, B, A, A, A…wait a second…
